Key points of your Insurance cover:
Important Notes
Under the Association of British Insurers General Business Code of Practice, your attention is drawn to the following important features of your travel insurance policy. Party leaders are responsible for ensuring that all members of the party are made aware of this information.
Important - pre existing health conditions
You must inform Healthcheck (08456 582999) if you or any member of your party have ever received treatment for a heart condition, breathing problems, or malignant disease (cancer) OR, if in the last 12 months have been referred to a hospital or a specialist consultant for a serious chronic condition. Failure to comply with the above may invalidate your cover.
Policy document: This contains the full details of the cover plus the conditions and exclusions which apply to it. You must read the insurance policy carefully.
Conditions, exclusions & warranties: These apply to individual and general conditions and are detailed in the policy document.
Fraudulent claims: Making a fraudulent claim is a criminal offence.
Medical expenses: Please note that private health care will not be provided unless specifically approved by the 24 hour Emergency Service shown on the policy.
Health: This section refers to the health of the people travelling and others upon whose well being the trip may depend. You may be required to disclose the health condition of members of your party prior to cover being issued. Please be aware that failure to disclose will prejudice any claim. Healthcheck Helpline 08456 582999.
Baggage & money: Claims are based on the value of goods at the time they were lost and not on a new for old or replacement cost basis. Police reports and Property Irregularity Reports are required in the event of a claim. Losses from motor vehicles or public areas are excluded. Do not leave baggage unattended. Please see "reasonable care".
Policy limits: Your policy limits the amount the Insurer will pay under most sections. The Baggage & Money section specifies limits for any one article, the total of any valuables, and cash. Expensive items such as video cameras should be insured all year round under a Household or All Risks Insurance.
Policy excesses: Some sections of the policy specify an excess. This is the amount of the claim for which you are responsible.
Reasonable care: You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property as if you were not insured.
Customer satisfaction: Our underwriters will endeavour to give first class service. However if you are dissatisfied with the way in which a claim has been handled, the complaints procedure is detailed on the policy document.
"Cooling off" period: Should you need special extra cover then our underwriters can provide additional cover and a quotation and if you still find that the policy does not meet your needs you can obtain a full refund of premium. This must be done within 7 days of confirming your booking, and before you travel or make a claim.
Hazardous holiday activities: If you are going to take part in hazardous holiday activities, please check that your policy covers you. You are covered for skiing and other winter activities.
UK Law: The contract is subject to English law unless otherwise agreed. If you require additional cover please contact us.
