The Hotel Grand Aigle is a terrific addition to our programme and has already become a favourite with all our staff. The position can't be beaten! It's on a new piste with guaranteed snow. When you step out of the hotel tech room, there's a gentle schuss and push across the quiet car park that takes you to the Frejus lifts. The best bit is the new red run, right behind the hotel, which turns into nursery slopes down to the Pontillas cable car. The Club Med just opposite was only built on condition that this run is kept open all season.

The Clubhotel Le Grand Aigle is a basic and comfortable hotel that is extremely close to to the slopes (under 2 mins), when the weather is really good you can ski in and ski out. The ski school meeting point is a 5 minutes walk.

In the evening it's a short 10mins stroll to the centre of Villeneuve, which is quite lively and has lots of shops and facilities. The Grand Aigle is officially a 2 star but it does have more public space and facilities than is usual for this standard. The ski room is well organised and it exits directly to the snow. There is a big locker for every bedroom.

The entrance steps take you up to reception and into a long, south-facing lounge, which gets plenty of light and sun. The large, attractive restaurant is bright and airy and also gets the sun. One floor down is a huge public space, then a long lounge area, and a good, big bar with a small dance floor adjacent and Sky TV and pool table. There's also a small games area with arcade games. The hotel also has another atmospheric little bar with arches and rough stonewalls. It's a genuine 17th century farm building with pillars and a cosy open fire.

The bedrooms are simple, clean and comfortable. All have private facilities and some have TVs. The rooms have baths with shower and some rooms have balconies.
