We are delighted with the Chalet Pyrene, which is warm and cosy and has a real snow-house atmosphere. It's built entirely of pine to a very high standard.
The Chalet Pyrene is situated in Villeneuve, 300m from both the old and the new villages, with plenty of shops and restaurants around. It's a 10 min walk to the Frejus gondola. You cross the bridge to the purpose-built area, where the nursery slopes and lifts start. The massive gondolas here are some of the best lifts on the system.
The general lounge/dining area, with open fire and TV, is bright and airy with huge floor-to-ceiling patio windows opening out onto a wide balcony overlooking the Frejus slopes. Just off the dining room is a cosy alcove with 2 seater sofa. All in all, we highly recommended this popular chalet.
