A fabulous hotel, brand-new this season, with excellent facilities and food.
This superb, newly constructed hotel has a modest ambition, i.e., to be the
best hotel in the valley! It's definately as good as a 4 star and offers standards
rarely found in an Alpine hotel. The lively Aravet Square with its gondola and
drag is only 2mins. Ski equipment is stored in the ski shop so you don't even
need to carry your gear. The Mont Thabor boasts an upmarket restaurant, the
Passé Simple, which is also open to the public and has a high local reputation.
There's even rumours of a Michelin Star on its way. The owner of this restaurant
is Hervé Boullais, who runs the Auberge de la Paix in Briançon,
which also provides excellent food. In the basement is a popular local nightclub,
the Baita, which is a lively and well-run cellar bar but a little bit pricey.
There is a terrific leisure facility with sauna, Turkish bath and jacuzzi. The
bedrooms are beautifully decorated and lavishly quipped. All have balcony, flat
screen TV with DVD, mini-bar, phone, automatic shutters (ground floor rooms
only) to either terrace or balcony and top quality, ultra modern bathrooms (some
have bath, some have shower). Suites are available on request.
