Whether your favourite thing is to build a snowman or simply enjoy the view - you will find the best thing about Passo del Tonale in the Val di Sole region is the reliability of the snow. This great snow record ensures this resort is an excellent choice for an early or late ski tour with runs opening as early as mid-October and closing in May.
Passo del Tonale is one of the most popular ski resorts in Italy and has all you need for a great trip within walking distance. Along the bottom of the main slope area you’ll find shops, restaurants and hotels, including the large Grand Hotel Miramonti, with all the amenities you could possibly need for a group skiing trip.
The Hotel Sciatori is a great place to get ski tips from the owner, who is also a ski instructor. However, if it’s the après ski that tickles your fancy, then choose from the swimming pool, ice-rink or relax in one of the many lively bars.
Après Ski:
A majority of the hotels offer their own restaurant and bars, but if you want to venture out in the evening, there are a number of bars to choose from. You can also take the gondola up to the top of the Presena Glacier, where you can enjoy a traditional Bombardino overlooking the breath-taking mountains.
There are a variety of non-ski activities such as ice skating and the option to go night skiing if you have more than a three-day lift pass.
Fun fact – Even though Passo del Tonale is one of the most popular ski resorts in Italy, it can be surprisingly quiet, so you rarely have to worry about queueing for the lifts.
Passo del Tonale is frequently used by national ski teams for training, making it a great spot to watch the pros show off their skills! Because of the long season, you can find locals skiing well into June and using the Presena Glacier.
Please note: This resort requires a 5 euro refundable key card deposit on arrival for a lift pass.
